Once you’ve done your keyword research (Day 7), the next step is using those keywords correctly on your website.
That’s where On-Page SEO comes in.
📌 On-Page SEO is everything you do on your own website to help search engines understand your content and rank it higher.
Today we’ll focus on four simple but powerful elements:
- Page Titles
- Meta Descriptions
- URLs
- Internal Linking
1️⃣ Page Titles (Title Tags)
The page title (also called the title tag) is what shows up as the clickable headline in Google search results.
✅ A good title tag:
- Includes your main keyword
- Is under 60 characters
- Makes users want to click
🧠 Example:
- Bad: Home
- Good: Buy Handmade Candles Online | Free Shipping in India
Use tools like Ubersuggest or Yoast SEO (for WordPress) to check your title length and keywords.
2️⃣ Meta Descriptions
The meta description appears just below your title in search results. It doesn’t directly affect rankings, but it helps increase clicks.
✅ A good meta description:
- Summarizes the content in 1–2 short sentences
- Includes your keyword naturally
- Has a call to action (e.g., “Shop now,” “Learn more”)
🧠 Example:
“Explore our collection of handmade candles crafted with natural ingredients. Free shipping on all orders!”
Keep it under 160 characters.

3️⃣ SEO-Friendly URLs
Your URL (web address) should be clean, simple, and keyword-rich.
✅ Best practices:
- Use hyphens (not underscores)
- Avoid numbers or special characters
- Include your main keyword
- Keep it short and readable
🧠 Example:
- Bad:
www.yoursite.com/page123?id=94
- Good:
www.yoursite.com/handmade-candles
Every URL should tell users (and Google) what the page is about.
4️⃣ Internal Linking
Internal links are links from one page of your website to another.
They help:
- Guide users to more content
- Keep visitors on your site longer
- Tell Google how your pages are connected
🧠 Example:
In a blog about “Home Decor Ideas,” you link to another post: “How to Style Candles in Your Living Room.”
✅ Tips for Internal Linking:
- Use clear anchor text (e.g., Read our candle styling tips)
- Link to relevant pages or posts
- Don’t overdo it (2–5 links per 1,000 words is enough)
🧠 Quick Recap
Element | Why It Matters | What to Do |
---|---|---|
Title Tag | Tells Google and users what the page is | Use keywords, stay under 60 chars |
Meta Description | Increases clicks from search results | Keep it short, clear, persuasive |
URL | Shows page topic, boosts SEO | Use keywords, make it clean |
Internal Links | Connects content, improves structure | Link relevant pages with good text |
✅ Task for Today
- Pick any blog or product page on your site (or a sample one)
- Optimize:
- The title tag with your keyword

You’re now doing real SEO. 💪
